"Angel, are you okay?" Wesley noticed how sad and lonely his boss was tonight.
"I'm fine Wesley." He wanted to be with Buffy tonight and see those emerald eyes of hers looking at him.
"No you are not, Angel. You are thinking about her. She's married, Angel." Cordelia knew that Angel was going to pursue her no matter what and he would win, but at what cost?
"Oh, my..." Angel was pleasantly surprised by seeing Buffy in a blue silk dress.
"Angel, don't do anything rash." Cordelia was telling him that this could get dangerous.
"Cordelia, he knows what he's doing." Wesley whispered in her ear.
"That's what I'm afraid of, Wesley." She knew that this looks interesting.
"Buffy, thank you for doing this tonight. I really appreciate this." Riley said loving how lovely his wife looked tonight.
"I'm not doing this for you Riley. Ruby is the only reason I'm helping you look good for your next role." She bitterly said throwing him a look of complete disgust.
"We had a deal, Buffy. I help you raise Ruby until I get my inheritance, which I will get in a few months. Then you can leave me."
"What happened to you, Riley? When we first met, you were nice and sweet."
"Things change, Buffy. I don't think you should drink anymore of those martini's tonight. You have had quite a few tonight already."
"I can handle myself, Riley." God, he was just mean and if she embarrassed him, fine.
"God, you are going to get drunk, Buffy. I'm cutting you off now. Now, let's mingle." Grabbing her by the arm.
"Let go of me, Riley. Go socialize by yourself. After all you do that wonderfully being an actor."
"You ungrateful bitch." Riley tried to hit her, but his hand was caught by Angel.
"I don't think hitting your wife is appropriate." Angel couldn't believe this was happening.
"Don't interefere in something that doesn't concern you, Angel." Riley knew that this guy was an old friend of Buffy's.
"She's my friend and I don't want to see anything bad happen to her." He knew that they had a really bad argument.
"You two are screwing one another." Riley shouted loud enough that everybody was looking at them.
"Riley, you are being a vulgar pig. I've been faithful to you. Angel and I are friends, which is something you don't understand. I'm leaving this, you can find me at my father's, Riley." Buffy said walking away.
"No, you don't..." He was cut off by Angel's fist.
"How could you, Angel?" Schocked that he resorted to violence.
"Buffy..."
"Save it, I don't want to hear it." Angel hadn't changed at all. She walked out of the ballroom and took a cab home.
